What kind of Permanent Hair Removal technique is best? If Laser, what type of Laser? No wax please!?

Laser is the best "permanent" option for any area larger than a dime or for treatment of more than 10 hairs. The best system is dependent on your skin type and the color and thickness of your hair. Alexandrite's and Diodes work pest for lighter skin with darker hair and Yag's work best for dark skin/dark hairs and for lighter hairs. You can get very good results from all 3 if the laser operator is knowledgeable on what they are doing.

Using properly tuned lasers, either individual hairs or large areas can be removed quickly. The laser kills the roots with heat.

Proponents of laser treatments claim it can be used on any part of the body, including the pubic areas, without more than a little warming sensation.

However, there can be problems with skin discoloration, inability to tan and possibly even scarring from improper use of a laser.

Also there is an issue as to whether the removal will be permanent.

Electrolysis and laser hair removal are 閳ユ笡ermanent閳?hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.

As you can see by the other posts, laser hair removal is very expensive. Laser hair removal generally works best on fair skinned people with dark hair as the laser has to be able to differentiate between the hair shaft and your skin.

In some cases hair has started to grow again after 12-18 months. Check with you laser clinic as to their guarantee and policy on this matter.

There are also home laser hair removal kits like the Rio. It uses a safe 808nm diverging diode based laser system. The main difference between the Rio and a salon laser is that it can only treat one hair at a time whereas the salon laser will treat an area of about 1cm squared.

The Rio is quite cheap though and can be used repeatedly. It may be good to test how effective laser treatments will be before investing a lot of money.
