I'd like to know what the MOST permanent form is.....

Best Form of PERMANENT Hair Removal?????

I had laser hair removal and it worked great for me. the hair has been gone for 7 years now. The key is making sure you are a good candidate and going to someone reputable.

The attached sites can help.

Lotion hair removal is cheap and lasts for days and comes in soft not stubbly. But long long term is laser hair remocal; expensive but lasts for life (if you are older than like a teen of course)

There really isn't a true "permanent" hair removal that's safe for consumer use, but there are some techniques that will keep the hair off for a little longer than shaving. Waxing and depilatories are two that you can do at home. But these aren't considered "permanent" by any means.

Even laser removal and electrolysis, both advertised as permanent hair removal techniques, can result in re-growth. Part of the reason is that hair grows in cycles, and it can take a year or longer for your body to go through all of its hair growth cycles so that all the hair follicles (both active and dormant) can be killed off. And even then you can get re-growth years later.

I've had both laser removal and electrolysis. The latter was for my eyebrows which were getting shaggier as I got older. Unfortunately the electrologist was a crook and didn't do the zapping properly, so the hair never died off (she was hard up for money and wanted to keep her clients coming back forever!). But the laser removal was great - I did my armpits, legs, upper lip, thighs - and after many years have had little or no regrowth.

But its EXPENSIVE, takes a long time (about a year of zaps to kill off all the hair), and can't guarantee no regrowth. It also won't work on women with darker skin or heavy thick black hairs, or when there's no pigment in the hair i.e., it's white. The laser light picks up on color and can burn dark skin badly. On gray or white hair the laser can't see the hair because its too light. Also, it HURTS! Sort of like getting a tattoo.

Electrolysis is also lengthy and expensive and painful, but darker skinned women can use it and fans say that it really roots out those evil dark hairs. Check out both techniques and see which you like better.
