There are no permanent side effects from the hair being gone. If you have dark skin or are tan, the laser can interact with the melanin in your skin and cause hyper or hypo pigmentation but that is rare.

I saw someone on T.V. who had laser hair removal on her face and she had marks on her skin, they looked horrible, she ended up having more work on her skin to get rid of the marks. Sorry I'm not trying to scare you, but I thought about having it done and now I'm too scared after seeing that. Try an electrolysis.
